Sneak Peak: DC3 ACR and Lightroom Presets

I’ll be releasing my new collection of Lightroom and Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) Presets through Cinnamon Rose Actions in the very, very near future. I love and subscribe to the Cinnamon Rose philosophy of value for a reasonable price, and consequently I’ll be selling this set of 12 presets for my usual $9.99, which will include both Lightroom and ACR versions. Stay tuned, and enjoy camera life!

Sutro Heights & Sutro Baths

After a recovery day yesterday (we haven’t been feeling well of late), we rallied and ventured out to the sunset to get some brunch (more on that in a later post), then drove along ocean beach, where the sun was shining and the spring winds were blowing hard enough for a couple of red white and blue stunt kites to glide through an acrobatic series of dives, rises, and loop-de-loops, entertaining us as progressed north on highway 1 to our ultimate destination – the sutro baths parking lot. We walked down to the baths, shooting mostly b&w film, but I mixed in a few iPhone shots, and thought I’d post a few.

Here’s to glorious off-days in San Francisco.

Matt & Cel’s SF Engagement – Golden Gate Bridge, Mission Alley

Cindy and I shot lovebirds Matt & Cel back on a windy and intermittently rainy San Francisco day in February. We warmed up (and I used the term very loosely as there was nothing warm about it!) shooting in an alley off of Valencia street in the Mission, and then made our way to Potrero Hill for some city view shots, Dogpatch for some lunch, then out to Golden Gate Park an finally to an old fort overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge for a blustery but by then sunny finale. Looking forward to shooting Cel & Matt’s wedding this summer, and taunting bridesmaid and fellow photographer Diyosa, who’s still trying to figure out how to smuggle in her DSLR under her bridesmaid dress. ;-p

Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day – Flickr Blogged! (Thanks Heather)

By happenstance, I just logged on to flickr and noticed that an older shot on my stream was suddenly getting a lot of love. When I looked at the comments, I saw that said photo had been featured on the flickr blog! Now I can’t stop smiling. Which could also be the wine.

Now… I’ve been a flickrer for a good, long time (since December 2004 to be precise) and I think that’s maybe the second or third time I’ve been blogged by the flickr staff, so it’s not like it happens every day. The photo was selected by Heather Champ, who is one of the people, if not the person, most directly responsible for flickr’s remarkable community growth and current success, and better yet, when I met her at the flickr 5 party, she was incredibly gracious and cool. I’m feeling nostalgic already.

The selected shot, of Lauren’s beautiful daughters, was taken with a polaroid pinhole 80 camera using some expired polaroid viva film. The shot was selected as part of Heather’s post celebrating the upcoming Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. Screenshot below.

Trash The Dress (TTD) – Part I – Underpassing in San Francisco

A few months back, in the wake of shooting Ashlee’s wedding, we had a mega-trash-the-dress shoot with Ashlee and two of her bridesmaids, Vanessa and Brandie. We shot in the Presidio, on Nob Hill, and below a dusty underpass deep in the heart of SF. Needless to say, these three came ready to pose, and the light and weather cooperated. Here’s a few from the shoot. Thank you to our beautiful models (who we plied with shots of tequila for courage, which they really didn’t need but hey – it never hurts) for a most memorable shoot. Apologies in advance for photo-spamming my own blog, I’ll follow up with even more a bit later.;-)
