By happenstance, I just logged on to flickr and noticed that an older shot on my stream was suddenly getting a lot of love. When I looked at the comments, I saw that said photo had been featured on the flickr blog! Now I can’t stop smiling. Which could also be the wine.
Now… I’ve been a flickrer for a good, long time (since December 2004 to be precise) and I think that’s maybe the second or third time I’ve been blogged by the flickr staff, so it’s not like it happens every day. The photo was selected by Heather Champ, who is one of the people, if not the person, most directly responsible for flickr’s remarkable community growth and current success, and better yet, when I met her at the flickr 5 party, she was incredibly gracious and cool. I’m feeling nostalgic already.
The selected shot, of Lauren’s beautiful daughters, was taken with a polaroid pinhole 80 camera using some expired polaroid viva film. The shot was selected as part of Heather’s post celebrating the upcoming Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. Screenshot below.
